Proverbs 3:5-8 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones”.
I guess I should tell you a little bit about me so you have an idea of who is doing all this blogging. For those who know me well, they would tell you that I love to laugh, yet I am a quiet person (kind of an oxymoron I know), I love solitude, reading, sewing and design, gardening, working in the woods and in general being outdoors. Before I hurt myself, I was an avid softball player (first base) and tennis player. Now, I think I have found a new and exciting hobby- that of blogging for God. The great thing about this is that I answer to the Holy Spirit. He is my boss and I can and will only speak the truth, for the truth shall set us free. I feel so free not having anyone, other than God, dictate to me what I can and cannot share. I absolutely abhor political correctness so you won’t find that here. I have a fighting spirit that will do whatever I need do to help and defend the poor, the children, and all those being mistreated.
As a child I was quiet and shy to the extreme. I loved God very much. In fact, I wanted to be a nun, if you can believe it…but then I wanted to get married too, and you can’t have both. I ended up choosing marriage. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband who is like a best friend to me.
In my early twenties I fell away from God and became really involved in the world. I wanted to be rich and famous. Never made either one…good thing. I have a degree in Business and a Masters degree in Management and worked for a bit teaching, consulting and managing. During this time period I had this very deep dark empty hole inside of me. I didn’t know how to fill that empty space, and so I was trying everything I could think of…..except God. It wasn’t until 1996 when I hurt my back really bad, so much so that I was bedridden for a long time and in super bad pain. I quickly searched for my long-forgotten rosary, which started my journey back to God. Within a short time, He filled that deep dark hole with Himself ….His love. Praise God.
My passions for God, gardening and health…in that order, will be the topics that I am going to be blogging about. Gardening really only because I think it gives glory to God for what He has created. The other two areas will pertain to a large degree on God’s ways to bring us back into healing. He knows how each one of us needs healing and if you didn’t know this before, our spiritual lives are intimately connected to both our physical and mental healings. So, that says alot right there. You just are not going to be able to have one without the other.
James 5:13-16 “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray…..Is any one among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the Church, and let them pray over him, annointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects” and again “Psalms 32:3 “When I declared not my sin, my body wasted away”
What is most important for you to know is that when you read a post from any of the categories, and it really touches the core of your being, STOP. That is the Holy Spirit speaking to you. He is going to speak to you in regards to your specific situation. Ponder it and meditate on those words or the word that really jumps out at you and ask the Lord what He is trying to tell you. This is how He speaks to each of us. ..the Holy Spirit is alive in scripture so be sure to watch for any movements of your heart when you read them. Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks, receives, and he who seeks, finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened”
God is doing something new and the scripture that comes to mind is in Isaiah. Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert”.
I need to mention here that this blog will be dedicated to the Blessed Mother. The reason why is because It has been placed upon my heart to launch this blog on December 8th, which is also the feast day of the Immaculate Conception of our Blessed Mother. Luke 1:48-49 “…For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name…..”
The Lord has put three people in my path to help me get started. First off, I am not computer savvy. so, the whole idea of getting a blog up and running was daunting. I decided the first thing to do after I was given the name was to do a search for blog building. I came across a site that was called “The Blog Builders”. This was free information with tutorials on how to get started. I had troubles so I asked Mr. Tuttle, the author of The Blog Builders site, for help and he was extremely helpful and kind in getting me into my platform of wordpress. So, A big Thankyou to Mr. Court Tuttle…and I would highly recommend his site. Second, I wanted to work off of my IPAD and downloaded an App called Blogsy. I had troubles getting logged in, and Mr. Lance Barton, the founder and CEO of Blogsy took the time (3 days worth) to help me get into the system. A big thankyou to Mr. Barton of Blogsy. From what I have seen of the program so far, I really like it. Third, and most important, is my daughter. After a week of struggling through the process, I finally asked my daughter if she would please help me get the blog set up. She worked hard…not because it was tough for her, but because she was dealing with someone (me) who had no clue how computer programs work. She had the patience of a saint while working with me. May you all be blessed abundantly for your part in getting me going.
For those of you who are led to this blog, know that it is meant to be. The Lord has something for you and there is no such thing as a coincidence. I call it Godincidence. May you be given the knowledge and understanding that you need to help yourselves or those whom you may be trying to help.
